Our Mission

We strive to be a successful local business, committed to Fair Trade principles.

Our mission is:

  • To sell affordable, high-quality Fair Trade coffee produced under socially-just and ecologically-conscious farming conditions.

  • To promote a healthy lifestyle and support the community by serving fresh, locally produced ingredients.

  • To create a market for high-quality, Fair Trade handmade arts & crafts from Africa
and by local artists in our neighborhood. The ultimate hope is to apply Fair Trade principles to help improve the quality of life of those African artists and their families.

Our Philosophy

We believe a business that applies the principles of fairness and equitable exchange for goods and services can become profitable. This model of doing business is ethical and promotes the delivery of high-quality products and services.

We strive to practice our philosophy in our day-to-day business practices:

We are committed to Fair Trade principles and practices that involve paying producers a fair price for their products.
  • Support the local economy
We are committed to purchasing goods and services from local businesses whenever possible. We strive to do our part to keep profits and jobs flowing into our community.

About the Name “Kaffa Crossing”

Legend has it coffee was first discovered in 850 A.D. by a goat herder living in the South western region of Ethiopia called Kaffa. We chose the name Kaffa to recognize its rightful place in coffee history. The word Crossing is symbolic of our coffee shop, a meeting place where people from different cultures cross paths, exchange ideas and share common experiences while sipping coffee and having a bite to eat.
